If anyone is interested in their family history, you should check out this great resource now on offer from the National Library of Ireland. The Parish Records for the Roman Catholic community have been available online for some time now and offer us much social detail, such as size of families and townland populations throughout the 1800s. It also allows us to gain some pre-census knowledge of the people and families of the Coolkenno area, especially in the pre-Coolattin Clearance era . Originally, the Clonmore Parish had been informally recorded with various names such as Ballyconnell Parish and the Parish of Aghowle for parts of the parish that rest in Co. Wicklow. The records start in 1813 (Marriage Records) and conclude at 1880.
